Pilobolus began at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire in 1971. Moses Pendleton, an English literature major and cross-country skier; Jonathan Wolken, a philosophy major and fencer; and Steve Johnson, a pre-med student and pole vaulter were enrolled in a dance composition class taught by Alison Becker Chase. In that class, they created their first dance, which they titled “Pilobolus” —and a legacy of movement and magic was born.
Named after Pilobolus crystallinus, a light loving fungi whose spores accelerate from 0–45 mph in the first millimeter of their flight, the group went on to create dozens of dance works with its founding members: Robby Barnett, Alison Chase, Martha Clarke, Moses Pendleton, Michael Tracy, and Jonathan Wolken.
Pilobolus is now under the direction of the founder-succeeding leadership of Executive/Co-Artistic Director Renée Jaworski and Artistic Director Matt Kent prepared to bring Pilobolus into its next half century.

I am from an immigrant family who moved to the US in 1953, and worked hard to make it to the middle class. I moved from Ohio to New York City, from there to CT and was solicited for various positions moving back to Ohio and then to Michigan, so I know what it's like to rent, buy and sell homes, and succeed on my own. My attention to detail was earned by working for various luxury interior design retailers such as Victoria's Secret and Bloomingdale's.
My strength is multiplied by the backing of the power of the incredible team at Keller Williams! I rely on my personal coach forecasting the steps to take to circumvent any issues with the transaction.
Diane is an Associate Partner with Keller Williams Realty starting her real estate career with William Pitt Sotheby’s. Her company has offices in Stamford, Ridgefield, Danbury, Westport, Newtown, and her office in New Milford. She covers a large radius around those areas in her efforts to serve the communities with real estate services.
Real Estate, coupled with her architectural and interior design skills, have given her a unique approach towards home design, repairs, renovations, and construction for the homeowner that wants to buy or sell. She can also help you with design services for your new or existing home.
Diane’s main goal when working with clients is to teach and guide clients about the market and about the process so no stones are left unturned. Diane knows all the trials and tribulations and fears that go with the process and has built a great arsenal of resources that she can rely on to help her clients with the process.
Her job is to be her clients’ negotiating advocate and help guide them to a successful closing. She is passionate about her local community and has served as President of the New Milford Dog Park and is a candidate for the New Milford Zoning Board. Diane always delivers the best customer service.

Boardman Bridge Butchers prides itself on sourcing the finest cuts of meat, ensuring every piece that leaves our shoppe meets the highest standards. From quality beef to carefully selected pork, poultry, and fish, we believe in providing our customers with an experience that reflects our dedication to excellence.
We're not just your local butcher; we're an integral part of the community. As neighbors and friends, we are committed to building relationships, supporting area farmers, and being a reliable source for top-notch meats. We’re here not just to sell you meat but to share stories, recipes, and a genuine passion for the culinary arts.
Founders Marc Rohlsberger and Donald Feiler met while honing their craft in Westchester County's butchery scene. United by their love for the art of meat-cutting, they envisioned bringing exceptional, hand-cut meats and other premium offerings to the community of Litchfield County, CT. Thus, Boardman Bridge Butchers was born.
OUR STORY: BRIDGING PAST AND PRESENT
At Boardman Bridge Butchers, we're not just about cutting meat; we're carving a legacy inspired by the rich tapestry of New Milford's history. The Old Boardman Bridge, an icon of our town's heritage, provides a backdrop to our commitment to tradition and excellence.
Boardman Bridge Butchers is more than a butcher shoppe; it's a nod to the days when craftsmanship and quality mattered. Our name pays homage to the old bridge that once connected our community, and we strive to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity in the way we source, prepare, and present our products.

At Penn Gardner, we are strategists, we understand business strategy. We build it into every marketing and public relations campaign. We learned the nuts and bolts by doing turn-around, organizational restructuring and marketing consulting assignments for medium and large sized companies. Time and time again we watched clients struggle as they focused on the wrong things…too close to the fire to take corrective action without outside help. Too frequently they failed to identify their best opportunities, and when they did, they often couldn’t develop and implement an effective course of action. Companies of all sizes have a hard time choosing the right markets, how to compete, products and services, sources of value creation, competitive advantage and tactics for success. By the time they figure it out, they have lost time, money and opportunity…and created an enormous amount of waste.

After a disastrous fire in 1860, a group of citizens met for the purpose of procuring an engine and other equipment necessary to protect the center of town.
Some sixty men subscribed to this organization and a collection of $1195 made it possible to purchase an engine and 200 feet of hose.
On August 1, 1863 the by-laws of the Association were adopted and the first tax was levied in January of 1864. Land was purchased on Railroad Street and the firehouse was constructed at a cost of $900.
In April of 1874 the Association requested the New Milford Water Company to install lines and hydrants within the district.
In 1876, a new hose cart and hose were purchased and the Engine House was from this date known as the Hose House.
In early 1883 larger quarters were needed and the Association purchased a site on Church Street and its construction was completed in 1890.
In 1891 the Directors gave the Hose Company permission to use the fire equipment "outside of its district", and continues this practice to this day.
After the major fire of 1902, the Association requested the New Milford Water Company to increase its mains to "supply adequate pressure to the hydrants" and a twelve inch line was installed through the business areas.
In April of 1916 the Association purchased its first automotive fire truck and served the community until it was retired and sold in 1935.
In March of 1923, an American LaFrance combination pumper and hose cart was purchased and remained in service until 1952.
In January of 1926, the present Air Whistle Alarm System was installed and controlled by the operators of the Southern New England Telephone Company.
In May of 1941, the Association purchased one of the most modern pieces of fire equipment to be seen anywhere in this area - a combination pumper, hose and ladder truck.
In 1956, all mobile units were equipped with radio and a control station was places at the Hose House.
In this same year, the need for larger and more modern quarter became evident and property on Grove Street was purchased.
The present firehouse was completed in 1960 featuring a meeting room upstairs and five truck bays with a sixth added in 1986.
In 1980 the town built a four-bay substation in the Lanesville district substantially improving the fire protection for the southern part of New Milford. In the late 1990's, three more bays were added bringing the total number of bays to seven.
In the late 1980's, three more bays were added to the back of the Grove Street firehouse.
In 1989, Water Witch Hose Co. #2 took delivery of their 102-foot aerial ladder truck.

The John Pettibone Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1949 in memory of John Pettibone, who for 42 years developed, guided, and inspired the New Milford public schools. At one time, Mr. Pettibone supervised two dozen one-room schoolhouses in our area.
Friends and former students of Mr. Pettibone created a memorial fund as a memorial to the former school superintendent. Founders included Irma Ambler, Howard Peck, Anne Dube, Bessie Cornwall, Merrill Golden, Barbara Weaver, Ralph Dodd, and Ethel Prince.
John Pettibone had a vision, a mission, and a deep personal interest in the fullest development of the abilities of every student. He demanded excellence from students and required the community to support school initiatives. His educational leadership in New Milford is renowned.
In his memory, the John Pettibone Memorial Scholarship Fund celebrates his legacy by granting scholarships, fulfilling his desire that no worthy student be deprived of a college education.
The JPMSF can also act as a selection committee on behalf of local businesses and individuals that would like to support a student’s study of a specific field or to honor someone's memory. Ongoing scholarships include the memories of Tim Conn and Mike LePage. Businesses and individuals that donate over $1000 can get recognition at New Milford High School's Scholarship Night.
Scholarship funds are raised through individual and business contributions, as well as from our endowment fund.
As a 501(c)(3), all donations are tax-deductible. In addition to private donations, we work with local foundations, including the Ellen Knowles Harcourt Foundation to screen applicants and award scholarships on their behalf.
All donations go towards awards that help eligible college and trade-school-bound students achieve their goals of higher education.

We are an enthusiastic group of women volunteering proudly to serve God, Home, and Country. Our members believe in serving our veterans and active military personnel, participating in historic preservation, and supporting education programs throughout the year.
About:
May 8, 1898, Roger Sherman Chapter, NSDAR was the ninth chapter chartered in the State of Connecticut. This chapter serves the New Milford area and is one of over 40 chapters currently in the state. Our chapter's namesake is the only signer of all four fundamental documents of our government. He was a distinguished member of the Constitutional Convention in 1787 and was elected United States Senator for the State of Connecticut, from 1791-1793. The chapter is very proud to be named the Roger Sherman Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, in honor of his great service and dedication to our country. Our members carry on the dedication to serving our community through causes near and dear to our hearts. Our members work tirelessly with our youth, seniors, and local veterans groups. In 2021, over 5000 hours were volunteered by sewing masks and quilts, knitting shawls, working at vaccination clinics, food pantries, and volunteering at the local library.
Current membership includes women in New Milford, Connecticut, as well as additional members from fourteen states. The members are women a lot like you. We come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. Our common bond is our lineal descent from patriots of the American Revolution. Any woman, 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage is eligible to join. We welcome membership inquiries and are more than happy to answer any questions about the Roger Sherman Chapter and the NSDAR.

The Connecticut Choral Society has been dedicated to the performance of choral music of the highest artistic quality since its inception in 1980. Serving the communities of Southbury, Woodbury, and Newtown, the neighboring towns of western Connecticut, and beyond, we seek to stimulate greater appreciation and enjoyment of choral music, both for the singer and our audiences.
While the pandemic delayed our plans for a 40th Anniversary Gala season, we remained concerted in our efforts to find other ways to help our community. We enter this season with renewed purpose to once again have our voices united in music, strength, compassion, and peace and to share the magic that happens when we come together with our community. The 22-23 season, OUR VOICES UNITED, offers a diverse program for singers and audiences alike.
From modest beginnings (less than 30 people attended the first rehearsal), we have grown in stature and accomplishment to become a renowned chorus of singers hailing from over 20 towns in the region. We have appeared in Carnegie Hall (with the New York Pops Orchestra), Lincoln Center, Yale University’s Woolsey Hall, and have toured England, Canada, Europe, Australia, and China—but most importantly, we remain dedicated to bringing beautiful and inspiring works to our local audiences in Connecticut. We are known for our high musical performance standards, outstanding contribution to the arts, and community outreach.
The Connecticut Choral Society is an organization of people united in their love of music and our joy in sharing that love with the greater communities to which we belong. Our gifts of music give both listener and performer alike strength in difficult times, help to remind us to treat others with compassion and respect, and remind us all that peace is possible—both for the moments when we are immersed in the beauty of music and as a way to help us find the common ground that yields lasting benefits.
Our Singers and Sustaining Sponsors look forward to welcoming new friends and supporters as we embark on our 40th Anniversary season together. Please join us in uniting our voices in strength, compassion, and peace. Music makes magical moments possible!

We achieve this by constructing homes with the help of volunteers and materials donated by local businesses. Back in 1981 Christian Trost and Avivah Wathal sold their business in New Jersey and planned to retire in New Fairfield, CT. One week into retirement they were walking down Bank Street in New Milford, CT and saw a store front for rent. Since they had some inventory of toys and gifts left from the sale in NJ and since they were only 50 something they came out of retirement to open Nordica. It was full of unique gifts from Europe for adults as well as a children’s section complete with a Brio Train table,Playmobil, Lego and many more familiar toys and games. In 2001 Joe’s Salon, which was upstairs from Nordica, wanted to expand to both floors.
Nordica moved from Bank Street to Main Street and became Nordica Toys. The adult gifts went away and the store became about toys and games for kids.
In 2002, they were really ready to retire. That’s when Marie McCarthy was introduced to the couple. Ms. McCarthy worked with them through Christmas learning the business and on March 1, 2003 became the new owner of Nordica Toys.
Nordica Toys is open 7 days a week year round. The store motto is “Your One Stop Toy Store”.We have what your need,we offer free gift wrapping,we offer
birthday cards and we get you out quickly to the party with wrapped gift in hand. It’s not uncommon to go to a birthday party and see more than 50% of the
gifts from Nordica Toys.
