New Milford Living is a monthly magazine that will target a specified demographic in the New Milford Area. It is a community magazine that features local sponsors and advertisers. The content is provided in large part by the sponsors and will also have features on the local community and New Milford residents. This is a first of its kind magazine for New Milford. It is a free publication that is delivered to a predetermined demographic. The magazine is printed and published by Best Version Media, which produces over 950 community magazines in the US and Canada with a circulation of almost 40 Million.

The congregation of New Milford United Methodist Church is dedicated to being a beacon of light in the world. We cherish all individuals as God’s children. Our church provides a secure and inviting haven, fostering Christian fellowship and a cohesive church community that seeks divine direction. Our worship celebrates God, uplifts our spirits, and reinforces our dedication to living by Jesus’ teachings through actions that reflect Christ’s love.
During the summer months we worship in the Chapel of the Pines located on the church property. Worship begins at 9:00AM.
September 15 we will be back to worship in the sanctuary at 9:30AM.

Back in 1981 Christian Trost and Avivah Wathal sold their business in New Jersey and planned to retire in New Fairfield, CT. One week into retirement they were walking down Bank Street in New Milford, CT and saw a store front for rent. Since they had some inventory of toys and gifts left from the sale in NJ and since they were only 50 something they came out of retirement to open Nordica. It was full of unique gifts from Europe for adults as well as a children’s section complete with a Brio Train table,Playmobil, Lego and many more familiar toys and games. In 2001 Joe’s Salon, which was upstairs from Nordica, wanted to expand to both floors.

Nordica moved from Bank Street to Main Street and became Nordica Toys. The adult gifts went away and the store became about toys and games for kids.
In 2002, they were really ready to retire. That’s when Marie McCarthy was introduced to the couple. Ms. McCarthy worked with them through Christmas learning the business and on March 1, 2003 became the new owner of Nordica Toys.

Nordica Toys is open 7 days a week year round. The store motto is “Your One Stop Toy Store”.We have what your need,we offer free gift wrapping,we offer
birthday cards and we get you out quickly to the party with wrapped gift in hand.It’s not uncommon to go to a birthday party and see more than 50% of the
gifts from Nordica Toys.
