DESCRIPTION:Concerts on the Green is a free music series held every Saturday evening at 7 p.m. during August. Residents are invited to gather around our historic bandstand with blankets and lawn chairs. \nThe music ranges from blues to country to pop classics. DESCRIPTION:Join the Sherman Chamber Ensemble ofr a magical evening.  Performing are Victoria Lewis (violin)\, Jane Chung (violin)\, Richard Wolfe (viola)\, and Eliot Bailen (cello). They will take center stage performing Schubert’s powerful Quartettsatz.\n\nAs part of the Ensemble’s year-long celebration of American music\, we highlights works by Amy Beach\, America’s first major woman composer\, and Samuel Barber. The quartet will be joined by flutist Susan Rotholz in Beach’s Variations and collaborates with Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Sandra Piques Eddy in Barber’s Dover Beach and Respighi’s Il Tramonto.\n\nPurchase tickets online at SCEmusic.org. There is limited seating and tickets may not be avilable at the door.

SUMMARY:Louise Coombe & George Mallas - Singer/Songwriter Concert
DESCRIPTION:George Mallas and Louise Coombe are singer/songwriters with unique musical styles\, each creating a journey through lives both real and imagined. Mallas is a pianist whose voice and songwriting are reminiscent of Jackson Brown or Cat Stevens. He’s a master of heartbreak infused with optimism. Coombe is a guitar player with southern roots that often show in the scenes she creates in her songs. Her vocals are delightful both in tone and narrative. An evening with the two of them features a back and forth of styles\, as they present some works on their own and some together. Their collaborations are a clear demonstration that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Both artists have recorded several albums and perform regularly throughout New England.
