DESCRIPTION:Village Center for the Arts is holding a ceramic plate “Throw-A-Thon”! \nSaturday\, November 6th\, 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM. \n18 VCA students have created pieces of art of such high caliber that they were asked to submit to the National Council of Education on Ceramic Arts. If chosen\, the students will be able to showcase their work in the National K-12 Exhibit! \nThe students are going to be making plates on the pottery wheel (hence “throw” a thon)\, and you can sponsor a student and their plate.\nSuggested donation will be;\nSponsor a student – $5 (or more) per plate thrown that day\,\nor $50 (or more) flat rate.\nThe Throw-A-Thon will be at VCA Pottery Studio\, 1 Church Street.\nYou are welcome to come to the studio but we are going to be livestreaming the whole event with commentary on Facebook!\nWe would appreciate the support for this important event as it would be a once in a lifetime\, incredible experience for the students. \nFunds raised during this event will allow VCA to have a presence at this exciting National Event representing

DESCRIPTION:The JCC in Sherman presents Harmony Times Two\, a special concert featuring two of Western Connecticut’s very popular singer/songwriter duos\, LUMOS and Noelle & Tyler. \nTickets $20 Members | $25 Non-Members: https://jcc-in-sherman.square.site/product/harmony-times-two/133?cs=true&cst=custom\nTo help us better plan for this event\, we kindly ask you to please purchase your tickets online by Friday\, November 19th. \nNoelle and Tyler combine their unique vocal talents to bring you acoustic\, harmonized covers of some of the best folk rock from the 60s and 70s (including songs by the Beatles\, Simon & Garfunkel\, Neil Young\, and many others). Their repertoire includes more contemporary hits and original material as well. They are based in Watertown\, CT\, and perform regularly in the area’s bars and restaurants. LUMOS\, the singer/songwriter duo of Susanna Marker and Al Burgasser have been performing together continuously for more than a decade. Their special vocal harmonies accompanied by music written and arranged by them for guitar and violin (and other instruments) make for a unique sound spanning a wide range of style and content. They regularly perform in a variety of venues in Western Connecticut and produce the Annual Sherman Opry (postponed during the epidemic)\, a concert event that brings some of the best local talent in Western Connecticut together to help support the Sherman Playhouse\, a local theater arts venue.
