DESCRIPTION:  \nThe iconic introduction to the holiday season\, always on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend\, Run Santa Run brings in the holidays right! As it’s also “Small Business Saturday” we are hoping to bring more people to the many small shops and restaurants of New Milford. Not only are we raising dollars for local non-profits\, but collecting toys for Toys for Tots in the kids fun run where the kids get to race Santa. Kids fun run is free\, but we ask that each child bring a toy for those less fortunate. Come one come all to downtown New Milford\, CT … the Best Town in the USA! \nThe 5k registration will open at 9am and the 5k will start at 10am sharp.\nThis is a walk and a run\, set for all ages and abilities. The course is young’s field road in New Milford\, CT and is mostly flat down and back.\nWe’d love to have you join us!\nKids fun run is NOT 5k and is free. This will be at 9:30am

DESCRIPTION:Small Business Saturday – Shop Local \nIn 2010\, American Express founded Small Business Saturday to help businesses with their most pressing need – getting more customers.  The day encourages people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  The single day has grown into a powerful movement\, and more people are taking part than ever before.  This year\, the big day is Nov. 26th.  We encourage you to Shop Local and support all of the businesses in the Greater New Milford area. \nThe Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday\, November 26th at 5:30 p.m. on the Village Green.  Highlights of the evening will include the lighting of the Christmas trees on the Green and visits with Santa.  The trees are put up by the United Methodist Men of the New Milford United Methodist Church\, www.newmilfordumc.org.  This is the 56th year of trees on the Green.  We hope you will join us for this community tradition. \nWe invite and encourage you to visit our downtown merchants prior to the ceremony on the Green.  Come and enjoy the wonder of downtown New Milford. \n  \n  \n
