After that V.I.P tickets will no longer be sold. Only 100 V.I.P tickets per night will be available. \nAll proceeds of this event will support Harrybrooke Park as well as the New Milford Lions Club\, New Milford United Methodist Church\, Camella’s Cupboard\, our local Fuel Bank\, Boy Scout Troop 432 and of course\, Harrybrooke Park. Join us for a trip down memory lane with some of the classic tunes that made them famous.\nNew Milford Refugee Resettlement\, a non-profit organization\, helps families become established\, productive members of the community. It has resettled families from the Congo and Honduras and now hosts a family from Afghanistan.\nEvents such as this allow the organization to continue its work\, providing everything from rent and utilities to medical care and education.

The one-hour film\, like the book\, explores the hopes of patients and families facing terminal illness and their relationships with the doctors who care for them. \nThe book/film tells the story of a physician\, Atul Gawande\, who is learning to think about death and dying in the context of being a healer. By sharing stories from the perspective of the people and families he encounters\, including his own\, it sheds new light on how our system – so focused on a cure – often neglects the important conversations that need to happen so that a person’s true priorities can be known and honored at the end. The stories in Being Mortal show us the value of shared decision-making in medicine at the end of life and illustrate the importance of thinking and planning ahead as we reflect on what matters most to us. \nAfter the film\, RVNAhealth social worker Cindy Merritt will facilitate a discussion about the book/film. \nPlease join us!
