SUMMARY:Gallery Opening
DESCRIPTION:Gallery Opening “Prismic”\nOpening Reception: September 12 | 6:30–8:00 PM\nVillage Center for the Arts\n12 Main Street\, New Milford\, CT\n(860) 354-4318 | villagecenterarts.org\nVillage Center for the Arts Presents Gallery Opening “PRISMIC”\, Featuring 19-Year-Old Emerging Artist Arianna Alagna\n\nVillage Center for the Arts in New Milford\, CT will present “PRISMIC”\, the first official exhibition by 19-year-old emerging mixed media artist Arianna\, opening with a reception on September 12 from 6:30–8:00 PM.\n\nArianna’s artistic journey with VCA began at just five years old\, when she attended summer camps and began developing the artistic skills and confidence that would continue to shape her work. Nearly 15 years later\, she returns to VCA\, not as a camper\, but as a featured artist.\n\nWorking primarily in acrylic paint and colored pencil\, Arianna creates bold\, surreal and often quirky works filled with saturated color and intimate details. Her art explores the human experience\, including vulnerability\, imperfection\, and subjects that can be uncomfortable or unconventional.\n\nRather than telling one specific story\, Arianna describes her work as a visual flow of thoughts\, emotions\, questions\, and observations that allows viewers to find their own meaning within each piece.\n\n“PRISMIC” marks an exciting milestone for a young artist beginning to establish her own creative voice\, and a meaningful full-circle moment for her and VCA.

SUMMARY:Merryall Presents: HILDALAND Traditional Scottish & American Music
DESCRIPTION:A contemporary collage of Scottish and American traditional music\, Hildaland is a duo that approaches geographic borders as markers of exploration rather than boundaries to be wary of. Fiddle player Louise Bichan\, originally from Orkney\, Scotland\, and mandolinist Ethan Setiawan\, originally from Goshen\, Indiana\, have taken their duo from traditional Scottish roots through to progressive bluegrass and jazz\, with music inspired largely by places and the journeys between them\, both physical and musical.
