DESCRIPTION:Knitting & Crochet Tickets Sold Separately \nAdvanced Beginner Crocheting Class \n– Come learn in a class designed just for you…an advanced beginner!! \n– You will learn 3 ways to crochet “in the round”\, how to read a yarn label (if you don’t already know how to do this)\, how to read a crochet pattern\, and more! \n– Projects include a coaster set as your 1st project and a hat as your ongoing project \n– 5 weekly classes\, 1 hour each \n– Requirements: This is NOT a beginner class! You MUST KNOW the basic crochet stitches — the chain stitch\, single crochet\, half double crochet\, and double crochet! \n– Other stitches\, including 2 different ways to make a brim on your hat\, will be taught \nPlease note that this a class for ages 16 and up \nAll materials will be provided at the 1st class — a materials fee of $30 will be paid to the instructor at the 1st class \nSaturdays\, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm \nAdvanced Beginner Knitting Class \n– Come learn in a class designed just for you…an advanced beginner!! \n– You will learn how to knit “in the round” using circular needles\, how to knit cables (which are really fun and easier to knit than they look!)\, how to read a yarn label (if you don’t already know how to do this)\, how to read a knitting pattern\, how to fix mistakes\, and more! \n– 5 weekly classes\, 1 hour each \n– Projects include a hat patterns and cable ear warmers \n– All materials and supplies will be provided at the 1st class \n– Requirements: This is NOT a beginner class! DESCRIPTION:The perfect beginner or refresher class.\nStart with a clear glass shape and learn how to cut and arrange different types of glass pieces into a design. \nDesigns are then fired in our kiln to fuse together and shape. \nThe course includes safety instructions as well as an overview of how to use the tools required to complete your project. We will show you several example projects and then you’ll have the rest of the class to experiment and complete your design. \nGlass Fusing projects are typically ready for pick-up after 2 weeks. Whisconier Road\, Brookfield\, CT 06804 \nIn a celebration of the enduring power of classical music\, Valley Music Series proudly announces the much-anticipated\, annual Händel’s MESSIAH SING on Sunday\, April 13\, 2025 at 3:00 PM. The MESSIAH SING is a tour de force with our friends at the Connecticut Choral Society and Nexus Choral Artists.\nThe MESSIAH SING has a more relaxed environment than our musical performances. All one needs is a love of choral music and a willingness to have a fun afternoon of singing led by Maestro Knapp! \nThis iconic oratorio\, composed by George Frideric Händel in 1741\, continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its profound beauty and timeless message. Händel’s Messiah is a monumental work that transcends the boundaries of time and culture. Renowned for its majestic choruses\, stirring arias\, and uplifting spirituality\, this masterpiece remains a cornerstone of the holiday season and a cherished tradition for music lovers everywhere.\nWhether you’re a singer or a classical music aficionado our annual sing-ins are for you! This is a great opportunity for all singers to join the chorus for the day; or for classical music lovers to come enjoy an afternoon of listening to the beautiful music of Händel! \nStellar vocal soloists include Michelle Trovato\, soprano; Alexa Devlin\, mezzo-soprano; Nicholas Simpson\, tenor and Hans Tashjian\, bass-baritone. The very talented Linda Sweetman-Waters\, is the organ accompanist. \nThere is a $20 suggested donation at the door to attend/sing. You may bring your own music or borrow a score at the door. In the spirit of generosity as demonstrated by Händel’s lifelong support of the UK’s first children’s charity\, we will donate proceeds received at the door to ARC – Association of Religious Communities which facilitates interfaith cooperation to enhance the quality of life in the greater Danbury\, CT community.
