DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Saturday\, June 10\, 2023 at 7:30 PM. The Connecticut Choral Society in partnership with Trinity Episcopal Church Newtown\, CT presents John Rutter’s Mass of the Children Benefit Concert for Newtown Youth & Family Services.* This beautiful piece of music was written in response to a desire to compose a work that would bring children and adults together\, in the same way that performances of Britten’s War Requiem had done for him when a school chorister. \nUnder the direction of Eric Dale Knapp\, the Connecticut Choral Society will be joined by the festival chorus and these very talented artists: Jennifer Sisco\, soprano ~ Nina Porretta\, soloist ~ Daisy Lowe\, soprano ~ Peter Kendall Clark\, baritone ~ Miriam Liske-Doorandish\, cello ~ Linda Sweetman-Waters\, organ. Singers and choirs from across Western Connecticut are invited to sing as part of the festival chorus as we present music of hope for a brighter tomorrow. \nBy attending this concert and making a donation\, you can help support the important work NYFS is doing in our community. It’s a great way to enjoy beautiful music while making a positive impact on the lives of children and families in need.
