SUMMARY:Lorraine Ryan Art Exhibit - Barns & Still Lifes of Litchfield Hills
DESCRIPTION:Merryall Center is proud to share and exhibit this fine artist’s work throughout its 2022 season. All paintings on exhibit at Merryall are available for purchase and are on view during Center’s performances and by appointment. To make an appointment email: info@merryallcenter.org \nMs. Ryan’s watercolors and acrylics range from large complex still lifes\, to landscapes\, to lush florals\, to coastal seascapes. Her current focus is Connecticut farms and barns\, hoping to raise awareness to their unfortunate and rapid disappearance. Her paintings have been collected in the U.S. and the U.K. In 2005\, Ryan was honored to be juried into the prestigious Mystic Seaport’s 26th Annual International Art Exhibition\, with her painting\, “It’s A Keeper.” \n“I have never indulged in abstract intellectual notions of art\, but rather I have merely tried to capture the things I enjoy observing” – Lorraine Ryan.

DESCRIPTION:BluesyLand is very pleased to be back at the JCC again this year.  Everything is cool and bluesy in BluesyLand as we continue our “Kind of Normal” Summer Music Series. We will bring our sweet traditional blues groove\, which is the lifeline to all the music we do\, says Dean Snellback\, founder and leader of “The BluesyLand Band”. \nFrom the Delta\, Memphis and Chicago stylings to Jazzy\, Swing or Country Blues\, we will take you on a fun journey through BluesyLand. Singer/Songwriter\, Dean Snellback is a lifelong musician and blues lover who spent his formative musical years in the New York and Chicago areas. We also welcome our feature Vocalist Justine Arnold this year\, along with other “Bandoliers” who are seasoned musicians with many years of live performance and recording experience. They include Jim Nowak on Bass\, George Hanlon on Guitar\, Tim O’Connell on Drums\, Also featuring Whit Campbell on Sax. \nYou will have a blast rockin’ the blues and singing along with this dynamic band!
